Winter 7 vs 7 Futsal League

 Global Youth Futsal League is a competitive high school league that focuses on promoting and developing futsal skills among young players. Futsal is a variant of soccer that is played on a smaller, indoor court with a smaller ball. The sport emphasizes fast-paced, skillful play and is known for improving players' technical abilities, creativity, and decision-making. 


Where: Milwaukee Lutheran High School

Who can participate: Clubs, high schools, Rec Teams, etc. 

When: January- March (exact dates depends on the league)

Cost: $600 per team 


 

League Rules

League Rules

  • Two 20 minutes halves with a 5-minute halftime (No overtime, game can end on a tie except for the playoffs)
  • ONE- minute timeout per half
  • 6 on the field plus a goalkeeper
  • A team may start a player down but must have 7 by half-time or it would count as a forfeit even if the team is winning/tied
  • No offsides
  • All kicks are indirect except for penalty kick
  • Kick ins will replace throw-ins

A team may elect to add an extra player when they are down more than 5 goals, 2 players on 10 or more goals.

League Scoring System

3 points for a win

1 point for a tie

0 points for a loss

In the event of a tie in the standings, Goal differential will determine the tie breaker.

Violations and Misconduct

No slide tackles or diving to possess the ball:

  • Even if it’s a clean side it will be a violation
  • This rule may be nullified on a scoring attempt but it’s up to the official’s discretion
  • Goalkeeper may slide in the box

Flagrant Fouls:

  • First offense will result in a yellow card caution
  • Second offense will result in a second yellow card caution and a Red card which leads to ejection
  • Examples: reckless challenge, charging, multiple fouls.

Goalkeeper Violations:

  • The goalkeeper must not deliberately delay getting rid of the ball. The goalkeeper will have 5 seconds to get rid of the ball
  • The Goalkeeper is not allowed to punt (dropkicks are allowed) (1st offense is a warning, 2nd offense is an indirect free kick from the spot of the violation)

Yellow and Red Cards

Yellow Cards

  • In an event a player from team A receives a yellow card, he/she must leave the field of play for 2 minutes and Team A will have to play with one player short for the duration of those 2 minutes. In the event team A concedes a goal in those 2 minutes, Team A is allowed to bring in a player but not the player who has been cautioned.
  • In the event a player from team B receives a red card, he/she must leave the field of play and is disqualified for the rest of the match and the following game. Team A will have to play with one player short for duration of 5 minutes. Team A will remain a player short for those 5 minutes even if they concede more goals.
  • If a players receive 2 yellow cards on back-to-back games, He/She will be suspended for the following match.
  • If a player receives 2 red cards, He/She will be expelled from the league.
  • If a team receives 5 or more red cards, they will be dismissed from the league

*** Two yellow cards equal one red card.

*** A team acquiring too many cards may face disqualification from the league.

*** A player who receives a red card will be suspended for the entire week.

All teams are encouraged to practice good sportsmanship and maintain a rating of 7.5 or

better. Abusive language towards the officials or other teams will not be tolerated.

Action/behavior that may affect a team rating includes but not limited to trash talking,

foul language toward officials, fans and opponents, taunting etc..

All other FIFA/NHSA laws will govern the game.
